Titre Plasmodium malariae – Trophozoite on thin blood smear (MGG stain, X1000)
Description The equatorial band forms of large trophozoites or schizonts of P. malariae are typical. Such forms may be encountered during infection with other Plasmodium species, but RBC parasitized by P. malariae are smaller and more colored, without any dot or blotch.
